the unit is always dropping from the belt holder. it produces electrical interference constantly. a real bummer. this walkman was a big disappointment. it is much too complicated to program.
I haven't had the need to listen to the weather band yet, which for Oklahoma is pretty good. I don't know if this has anything to do with how the player is built or if I got lucky with a battery. My other player required 2 batteries and I was changing them frequently. As a person who seems to be stuck in the past as far as electronic doo dads, this was a happy purchase for me. Overall, for the money spent, I am very happy with my purchase. My other player got lost in some black hole and I couldn't find a replacement anywhere in town. The buttons are easy to manuever and locate and the sound is good. I have an extensive collection of cassette music and books on tape. I was especially impressed with how long the 1 battery the player requires has lasted through a week of listening to the radio and listening to a rather long book on tape.and this included falling asleep listening to the radio.
I recommend the Walkman to anybody interested in a compact cassette player with AM/FM weather capability. Excellent product.
I prefer earbuds to headphones so I replace the small headphones that come with unit. The only downside is that you have to flip the tape for the second side, but OK as that allows you to use only 1 battery and for it to run for a long time. I really enjoy listening to audio books while gardening or walking the dog, and it is getting harder and harder to find walkmen that are cassette players. The sound quality is fine, it runs on a single AA battery for a long time so it is energy efficient. Highly recommend it. I bought 2 for that reason because I think cassette players are going to be obsolete soon and unavailable. And I have a lot fewer problems with tapes that CDs when I am walking around.
Its great, perfect fit. Finding a portable radio that won't cost an arm and leg but that can stand up to outdoor rigor has been tough. My hunt for an easy to use inexpensive radio has ended. I have had this radio for a month and do a lot of outdoor work around the house.
